Ford man Hirvonen came pretty close to spoiling the Citroen party after going into the final round leading the championship by a solitary point, ultimately losing out over just a couple stages on day two of Rally GB. His last ditch attack on the final day came unstuck when he took a yump a little to quick and ended up partially losing his bonnet, requiring a quick stop to remove the offending item mid-stage. Brilliant stuff, can’t wait for the 2010 fightback from Ford.
